Club Information

If you are part of a volkssport club in the state of Washington, here’s how you can contribute to (and benefit from) the Washington State Challenge:

For the new Town & Trail program:

The Town & Trail program asks walkers to collect stamps from events related to certain themes (such as ‘Flowers’ or ‘Museums’).  Each club chooses the category or categories for which their events qualify. For example, a club whose walk follows a named trail in a state park may qualify for both the Trail and the Park categories. In this instance a club would identify that the event qualifies for both a Park and a Trail, although credit walkers may apply the stamp to only one category (their choice). Only designate the categories that are going to be active during the year your event takes place (each themed booklet runs for three years).

Also, please send us a list of your YREs and what they qualify for and we will put them on this site!!!

The specific guidelines are:

All Clubs booklet (2008-2010) — contains Art, Landscape, Towns and Parks To qualify, a club must sponsor at least one seasonal or year-round event. You will complete one event (walk, bike or other) for each of the 25 qualifying Washington clubs

Waters booklet (2006-2008) — contains Lakes, Rivers, Bridges and Ocean Front.  To qualify for one of these categories an event route must be alongside a lake, a river, on a bridge over water, or along an oceanfront area.

History booklet (2007-2009) — contains Museums, Monuments, Places on the National Historic Register and Cemeteries.  To qualify for one of these categories an event route must go by a monument, a house or building on the national historic register, a museum, or alongside or through a cemetery.

For 39 Counties

Please add the county for all your walks to the description in Pathfinder, Starting Point, and brochures.
The 39 Counties program has been extended indefinitely.
