Fees: There is no fee to walk the trail. This is a credit only event. The fee for IVV credit will be $3.
Facilities: Food and drinks are available at the start/finish point and at points on the trail. Restrooms, food, and drinks are available at the nearby mall and at numerous restaurants nearby.
Course Description: The trail is rated 1. The route goes through residential areas of the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake. The route follows city sidewalks, with one short section of unpaved path. The course is suitable for strollers and wagons. A parallel route is provided for wheelchairs at the unpaved area.
Highlights: A modern suburban residential development is the setting for this walk. Many walking trails were built into the design of these neighborhoods, providing a route that is peaceful and safe from traffic hazards. The area is convenient to I-64 and adjacent to a major regional shopping center.
Directions: From I-64, take Exit 289 (Greenbrier Parkway) south, toward Greenbrier Mall. Follow Greenbrier Parkway past the mall. Turn left at the first stoplight after the mall (Eden Way). Take Eden Way to the next stoplight, and turn right. The start point is in Greenbrier Food Mart, located at this intersection. Please do not park immediately in front of the stores in this small shopping center, but park in the middle of the lot. The customers who use these stores will appreciate your courtesy, as will the proprietors.
