The start point is the Kailua District Park located at 21 S. Kainalu Drive. This unique walk starts at the Park, passes through central Kailua, continues on to the Kawainui Marsh and crosses on the dike with its amazing views of Mt. Olomana. Participants can start anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

December 19. Barbara Mateo-Kihano and Gayla Tarumoto volunteered
to organize this event, so we can definitely expect a great time. A flyer
will be sent out in late November with more party details (directions, grab
bag, etc.).
There will be a Pre-Party Downtown Scavenger Hunt (optional but lots of
fun!) with a start and finish at the Mandalay. It’s an informationgathering
hunt only – not one where you bring back items.

The Honolulu Marathon Race Day Walk will be held on December 13, 2009 in conjunction with the start of the Honolulu Marathon. The 10K walk will start at approximately 5:25AM, immediately after the start of the Honolulu Marathon 42K.
The Menehune Marchers has sanctioned the Honolulu Marathon for IVV credit. You will have the opportunity to earn an event credit, and 10Kor 42K distance credit. All participants must pre-register for the Honolulu Marathon directly for either the full marathon or for the walk. Those who want IVV credit will need to also pre-register with the Menehune Marchers Volkssport club. If IVV credit is desired, please contact Carol Romig by 11/30/09 at dcromig@hotmail.com or call 808-626-3575 and provide your name, address, and contact #. We will mail you the pre-registration forms for the AVA portion of this event. IVV credit is $3.
The Honolulu Marathon registration fees vary depending on when one registers and whether one is registering for the full marathon or for the 10 Km walk. You can get all the details about the marathon at the official Honolulu Marathon website, and you can register online for the marathon. www.honolulumarathon.org
