There are three basic types of events:

Walks, bikes, or swims on weekends and evenings which are hosted by the local clubs with staffed registration and checkpoints. You register at the start and then walk your own pace on marked or mapped routes.

Guided walks: A guide leads the group along the route. These usually have a single start time.

Year-round events: 1850+ self-guided walks, bikes, swims available most every day. Register at the registration box, take a map and guide yourself on the route.

Albany Fitwalkers walking through Monteith Park during the Historic District Sunday Stroll. Forty-eight walkers and a few four-footed friends enjoyed food, fun, friendship and fitness during an AVA guided walk through historic downtown Albany on Sunday, August 23rd. Besides historic homes, the walk passed 2 rivers, 3 train depots and many other points of interest. Walkers came from all directions in Oregon plus AVA walkers from Virginia and Idaho. Officers include Julia Westerberg and Lolly Gibbs Co-Presidents, Jayne Smith Secretary, Jan Hagemeister Treasurer and Sam Korff Northwest Regional Director. Photo taken by Steve Cramer, submitted by the Albany Fitwalkers of Albany, Oregon, AVA-0474 of the fabulous Northwest region. Albany is known for four flat year-rounds rated 1. Come join us soon for Fun, Fitness and Friendship. AVA Volunteers are the finest!
