Walklist Email Discussion Grup

Walking and volksmarching now has its own automated Email group. Once you join this group, any message sent to walklist@yahoogroups.com will be sent automatically to all members of the group. Only subscribers may post messages to the list.

Walklist is not sponsored by nor endorsed by the American Volkssport Association.

The mission of the walklist listserve is to bring together walkers and volkssporters from around the world to share ideas, trails, and information about upcoming events.

• See the User/Contributor Agreement below.
• Event announcements are welcome.
• Discussion of how to set up a walking club and conduct an event are welcome.
• Brief announcements of commercial products (tours, T-shirts, shoes, etc.) are allowed once per month per poster.
• "Political" discussion about the inner operations of walking organizations are to be avoided and conducted in other forums. See the Volkssport Issues List mailgroup

Walklist is private, only subscribers will be able to post messages to Walklist, although non-subscribers may read messages via the Web interface (but may not send messages).
Subscribers may receive each message as sent, or a daily digest, or a daily index of the list message subjects (selecting any messages they wish to read), or no mail at all.   These options may be changed at any time by the subscriber, such as when going on vacation or returning.
This list is unmoderated and content does not reflect the opinion of the list owner or the American Volkssport Association.
I, the list-owner reserve the right to remove subscribers who do not engage in what I consider civil conduct.

Walklist Subscriber/Contributor Agreement

Walklist is accessible worldwide to anyone with Internet access as all postings are archived automatically on the World Wide Web at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/walklist

All submissions become the property of Wendy Bumgardner and each user who submits content in any form to Walklist grants Wendy Bumgardner the right to edit, copy, publish, redistribute, and reuse such content in any media, including but not limited to archiving at YahooGroups.com, without payment of any kind to the author. You also understand that we automatically post your work on YahooGroups.com which is available worldwide to anyone with Internet access. You understand that such use is without payment of any kind to you and you will have no right of approval of or claim arising out of any use by us of your work on Walklist or other sites, including but not limited to claims based on defamation or right of privacy or publicity. You must include correct contact information along with your submission including, at a minimum, name and e-mail address. Submissions will not be returned nor can we guarantee that they will be destroyed and/or removed from our computers. Wendy Bumgardner bears no liability for the similarity of your work, if any, to any other material appearing on any Site at any time.

All messages submitted must be your original work. Your work may not contain any material from any other person or source. If you want to include the names of persons living or dead, use first names only unless clearly fictional. Wendy Bumgardner is the sole arbiter of acceptable content. She will not tolerate, in her sole judgment, any message which contains any unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, indecent, racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable material. Because postings are not pre-screened, any person posting objectionable material may be unsubscribed from Walklist. No virus warnings.
No chain letters.
"Quoting" of previous messages should be limited to a sentence or less - see the requirement that all messages must be your original work and not contain material from any other source. This includes excess quoting.
Commercial solicitations must be limited to products/services related to walking.
Commercial solicitations should be limited to one message per product per month. Such messages should be short - a paragraph or two chiefly consisting of where to send for more information.
No discussion of changing AVA policies or of AVA politics - those discussions should go to volkssport@yahoogroups.com 
Subscribers should not use the addresses of Walklist subscribers to compose a mailing list to use for uninvited commercial solicitations - please operate within the "commercial solicitation" restrictions above. (You will receive replies from interested customers instead of inviting a flame war).
