The Boston Special Places walk on Sunday, April 3, takes walkers through parts of the city that they may not otherwise encounter on their own. All participants enjoy the first 3/4 mile (1.2k) of the walk on the Esplanade where one can experience much natural beauty, especially in early spring! The walk continues past the Hatch Memorial Shell (pictured) where many outdoor concerts are held year round. For this event, you have the option of following a leader and walking with others, or you can follow the written directions and walk on your own. If you can’t join us for this walk, perhaps you would like to attend one of our other day events or yearly/seasonal events as posted on our website at www.walknmass.org.

Our walk in Creve Coeur Park for National Walking Week on Saturday, April 2, is a favorite. It’s level, it goes around two lakes and through several wooded areas, it’s good for people-watching (skaters, bikers, kayakers, paddleboarders, sometimes parasailers, sometimes soccer players on the athletic fields, and always other walkers, many with leashed dogs). Deer and other wildlife are often seen.
