Greater Des Moines Volkssport Association – Boone History and Trains Walk – YRE
Start Location: HyVee Grocery Store – 1111 8th Street

We will walk through Downtown Boone, IA passing the Historic Depot and the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad Museum. Depending on time, you can catch ride on the train as you enjoy some of the most beautiful landscapes in Iowa. Our walk will stroll through downtown to see a couple of murals and a clock for AVA’s special
program of Rockin’ Around the Clock. You will also pass a Little Free Library and a Veteran’s Memorial. Come join us for an outside adventure in Central Iowa.
Boone has many options for food and several community parks to see.

Walk ‘n Mass Volkssport Club – Historic North Bridge Walks – YRE
Start Location: Walgreens – 71 Lowell Road

Two 5K loops. The North Bridge loop includes Minute Man National Historical Park and the Old Manse (home to Emerson & Hawthorne) before continuing to the Colonial Inn, Monument Square and the Concord Museum. The Natural Trail goes along the Reformatory Branch Trail, through conservation land and into Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to Author’s Ridge before returning to the finish.

Walk ‘n Mass Volkssport Club – Battle Cove Walks – YRE
Start Location: Battleship Cove Gift Shop – 5 Water Street

From the home of the world’s largest collection of WWII naval ships, the route goes through a neighborhood with Portuguese bakeries/restaurants and parks designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, and passes Lizzie Borden’s house, Veterans Memorial Bicentennial Park with an Iwo Jima sculpture and a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and finishes on a boardwalk along the Taunton River to return to Battleship Cove at Heritage State Park.

Saint Louis Walkers – Creve Coeur Park – YRE
Start Location: The Lakehouse Bar & Grill – 2160 Creve Coeur Mill Rd.

The 10K walks around both Creve Coeur Lake and Mallard Lake (5K goes around Mallard Lake only). Both 5K and 10K routes are on paved hiking/biking paths and gravel hiking paths. Deer and water fowl are often seen on these walks.
You may register in advance via the OSB, or on the morning of the walk in the Lakehouse parking lot via the PSB.

Start Location: Southside Lions Park – Pavilion 2 – 4600 Pecan Valley Drive

Walk around a 1.2 mile lake on a shaded paved path. The route will be on a new trail that goes another mile on a paved trial around sport fields. The 2nd 5k will be on the linear trail system.
A hotdog lunch will be offered for a nominal fee. Roadrunners, San Antonio Pathfinders and Texas Trail Roundup awards will be given at 11 am at the pavilion.

Dairyland Walkers – Madison Arboretum Walk – YRE

This is a beautiful, scenic walk around Lake Wingra, passing a former stagecoach inn, through the 1,260 acre University of Wisconsin Arboretum, past Madison’s Henry Vilas Zoo (free admission) and past Edgewood College.
